FROM OLYMPIC MEDALISTS TO CHRISTMAS SHOPPING: LONDON INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW HAS IT ALL

London International Horse Show, a highlight of the equestrian calendar and a festive favourite, returns to Excel London from 18–22 December, and promises an action-packed line up to appeal to everyone. With over 50 years of tradition, this world-renowned event is anticipated to welcome more than 80,000 visitors for what’s celebrated as the ultimate equestrian Christmas party.

This year’s London International Horse Show promises an exciting lineup of elite international competition, including FEI World Cup™ events in Dressage, Show Jumping, and Driving, as well as a range of family-friendly entertainment. On Wednesday 18 December, the opening day, the International Arena will feature a Team GB Medal Parade at 20:00 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of British equestrians at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At the Olympic Games Team GB riders earned team gold in Eventing, their first Show Jumping team gold since 2012, and team bronze in Dressage, with individual medals going to Laura Collett (bronze in Eventing) and Lottie Fry (bronze in Dressage) – both of whom will join their teammates in this inspiring ceremony. At the Paralympic Games, British riders also excelled in the individual medals, with Natasha Baker and Sophie Wells each winning two bronze medals, Georgia Wilson securing both a bronze and a silver, and Mari Daurward-Akhurst adding another bronze in Para Equestrian. This special parade will honour their dedication and successes, kicking off the Show in unforgettable style.

Amid the thrilling equestrian action in both the International and the New Horizon Plastics London Arenas, visitors at London International Horse Show can explore an array of additional attractions, including the popular Shopping Village. Here, shoppers will find everything from rocking horses to real horses, diamonds to designer breeches, making it a top destination for holiday gift shopping.

The Shopping Village showcases family-run businesses and specialised brands, many of which will have exclusive offers only available at the show. Highlights include Joshua Jones, a globally respected name known for their meticulously crafted leather riding boots, clothing, and accessories, designed for both the arena and everyday wear. For jewellery lovers, A Touch of Silver will provide an exquisite selection of silver and gold jewellery at unbeatable prices, perfect for Christmas gifts.

Visitors will also find a broad range of products spanning skincare to luxury fashion. For example, Rhug Wild Beauty, founded by Lord and Lady Newborough, presents an award-winning line of luxury skincare crafted from wild foraged ingredients from their estate in North Wales. In addition, Celtic Tweed, who present Irish-made tweed and linen clothing inspired by the heritage of Balbriggan, Ireland, will be ideal for those looking for timeless style.

For equestrian enthusiasts, CT Equine Collection will bring vibrant colours and quality to the Shopping Village with affordable equestrian fashion, updated each season with new products. Premier Performance will also be exhibiting their cutting-edge, high-quality equine nutrition formulas to support horses’ health and recovery, trusted by top competitors. EQUIDRY will also be present, showcasing its range of premium waterproof outerwear, designed to keep equestrians warm and dry in all weather conditions. To enhance convenience, shoppers can use the Shopping Drop-Off Point, operated by The Pony Club, to safely store their purchases for a small donation.

Adding to the festive atmosphere inherent at London International Horse Show, visitors can look forward to seasonal goodies from iconic vendors like Flapjackery’s decadent treats (think Peanut Butter Brownie and Cherry Bakewell) and warming liqueurs from the Oxton Liqueur Company made from hand-picked fruit. Furthermore, the Christmas Food and Drink Market located in the Shopping Village will offer treats and indulgences for all tastes.

Within the Shopping Village, the Talk Horse Live Zone will serve as a hub for connecting visitors with top riders, influencers, and industry experts. Featuring superstar names such as Laura Collett and Ben Maher, the Live Zone provides a platform for idols of the sport to offer their insights and inspiring stories about equestrian sport throughout the five-day Show. Additionally, Renauld Sunglasses are presenting the ‘Best Dressed Competition’ on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, giving attendees the chance to win fantastic prizes.
