Seven international carriage drivers have been confirmed for London International Horse show this week, including six of the world’s top ten. Those contesting the historic event will compete from Friday to Sunday, beginning with The Extreme Driving Challenge presented by Karen and Hugh Scott-Barett on the Friday Evening, before the prestigious FEI Driving World CupTM takes centre stage across Saturday and Sunday.
Last year’s London World Cup winner IJsbrand Chardon (NED) is back to defend his title and will face stiff competition from legend of the sport, world number one and previous winner, Boyd Exell (AUS) who had to settle for second in 2024. Belgium’s Dries Degrieck will have something to prove having won the first leg of last year’s World Cup and finishing third overall. His fellow countryman Glen Geerts comes to London on the back of 2nd and 5th place finishes at Stuttgart German Masters.
Elsewhere, hot competition will come from Germany’s Anna Mareike Meier, world number five, while British hopes will be pinned on fan favourite and British number one driver, Daniel Naprous. As well as competing in driving, Dan is a world-renowned horse trainer and stunt actor whose credits include Game of Thrones, The Crown and Wonder Woman. Completing the line-up is Bram Chardon (NED) current world number two and London regular.
