Victor Bettendorf’s debut at London International Horse Show surpassed all his expectations when he was crowned the Show’s leading rider.
The rider from Luxembourg has won three classes this week – the CSI5* Champagne Taittinger Speed Stakes, the CSI5* Longines Christmas Cracker and the CSI5* Reindeer Stakes and finished second in the CSI5* Santa Speed Stakes.
“It was already a dream come true just to be here. I wanted to prove to the organisers that I am really happy to be here and am trying to do my best. This week was just perfect,” said Victor.
“I love this show. The British atmosphere and the crowd is really special. They know the horses, there’s a lot of horse people all around so it’s something that all the riders enjoy and especially the crowd.“The only thing is I’m not British because I would like to feel once how it is when you are a Brit and you win a class because it gives me goosebumps every time a British rider is in the lead before the end of the class.”
