Today, the London International Horse Show launched a new initiative – The London International Horse Auction. Taking place on the evening of Saturday 16 December at the world-famous London Show, this hybrid auction is being organized at the London International Horse Show, ExCeL and being presented by Breen Equestrian and the Billy Stud.
Ten world class Sport Horses will be auctioned both to a live audience and online through live streaming at The London International Horse Auction.
Five to eight-year-old horses will be selected in September and lots will be available to view online on the auction section of the Show website from early October. At the event horses will be available to trial from Thursday 14 December with the auction taking place from 6pm on Saturday 18 December. Chloe and Shane Breen and Pippa and William Funnell who are behind this new initiative are confident that the Christmas Show will offer a fantastic platform for the auction. William Funnell said “This is a great opportunity for buyers to view and hopefully purchase Sports Horses within the UK. The London Show offers a fantastic environment for the auction and potential buyers will be given the chance to ride the horses in advance of the auction at ExCeL. We are very excited by this new launch and are confident that it will be a great success”.
Simon Brooks-Ward, London International Horse Show Event Director said “We are constantly looking to improve the offer that London International gives its audience. The introduction of a horse auction to the Show is a great new initiative. We firmly believe that the auction will introduce buyers to some top quality horses for purchase plus they’ll be able to enjoy the fantastic sport and entertainment that the show offers.” Full information about the horses available to buy will be available on the Show website later in the year.
