The Return of Lorenzo – The ‘Flying Frenchman’

We are delighted to confirm the return of Lorenzo, the renowned ‘Flying Frenchman’, as the star of the International Arena display for 2024. Lorenzo, who is known for his exceptional ability to merge athleticism with precision horsemanship is set to dazzle audiences and enhance an already spectacular event which features FEI World Cup™ Jumping, Dressage, and Driving, the much-loved Shetland Pony Grand National, and The Kennel Club Dog Agility.

Lorenzo made his debut at London International Horse Show back in 1995 when the Show was held in the Olympia halls, last mesmerising audiences there in 2011. Known for performances fit for royalty, his return in 2024 promises to be even more spectacular than it was 13-years-ago.

Expressing his excitement, Lorenzo commented: “London International Horse Show has always been a highlight of my career. The atmosphere is electric, and the British crowds are incredible – they truly appreciate the passion behind my work. This will be my first time at the ExCel London, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to present my display to the audience there this December.”

Since his first show in the Arena of Saintes Maries de la Mer, Lorenzo has been entertaining audiences for 30 years and is a cornerstone of equestrian shows worldwide. His remarkable communication with his horses and their shared expression of freedom consistently leave spectators in awe. Having performed in 31 countries, Lorenzo has garnered a dedicated global following, and stands as a shining example of what can be achieved through willpower, tenacity, courage, and talent.

This year, Lorenzo and his team of eight to ten horses will showcase their groundbreaking ‘Action’ performance at London International Horse Show. In a display of harmony and valour, Lorenzo will stand atop his galloping horses, clear obstacles, and orchestrate breathtaking sequences, embodying his reputation as he ‘flies’ around the International Arena. Pushing the boundaries of the extraordinary, Lorenzo never fails to captivate children, awe novices, and impress specialists alike.

Show Director Simon Brooks-Ward said, “We are delighted to welcome back Lorenzo after all these years. His display exemplifies the highest level of horsemanship, showcasing an extraordinary bond and deep understanding with his horses. It is an honour to have him and his team return to London International Horse Show, bringing their unique blend of glitz and glamour to the Show with an incredibly impressive display.”
